2026 Schedule of Events

The Tamarack Health WhistleStop Marathon weekend is filled with activities for runners and spectators alike. Friday features packet pick-up, along with a pasta feed and live entertainment to get everyone in the race day spirit. Saturday brings the full marathon, half-marathon, 10K, and 5K, followed by a post-race celebration with music, refreshments, awards and a Blues & Brews Fest. From start to finish, it is a weekend of fun, fitness, and community in the heart of the Northwoods.

Registrants who register online should receive a confirmation email of your registration from the online company ChronoTrack.

Weekend Schedule

FRIDAY, October 9, 2026

  • Packet Pick-Up – 12noon – 9pm inside the Bay Area Civic Center, 320 4th Ave West, Ashland, WI  54806
 

SATURDAY, October 10, 2026

  • Late Packet Pick-up – 6- 7am inside the Bay Area Civic Center, 320 4th Ave West, Ashland, WI 54806
  • Shuttle Bus Departure (Shuttle Buses from the finish line to the race starts are for RUNNERS only. These are not spectator buses.)
 

Buses will depart the Bay Area Civic Center at:

  • 6:15am for the Half-Marathon Race with the last bus leaving at 7:30am
  • 6:30am for the Full Marathon last bus leaving at 7:15am
  • 7:30am for WhistleStop 5K & 10K Races with the last bus leaving at 8am from just North of the Associated Bank

Parking Information

While there is ample parking within 2 blocks of the Bay Area Civic Center and available on the side streets in Ashland, we ask that you not park on Main Street. Please leave this for shoppers. Parking is available at the following spots after 5pm on Friday, October 9, and all day on Saturday, October 10:

  • BMO Harris Bank Parking Lot, Ellis & 3rd Street, 2 blocks east of the finish line
  • Select Benefits Parking Lot, Ellis & 3rd Street, 2 blocks east of the finish line
  • Superior Credit Union Parking Lot, Ellis & Depot Dr., 2 blocks east of the finish line
  • Ashland County Courthouse Parking Lot, Lake Shore Drive between 2nd & 3rd Ave.1 block north of finish line
  • Northern State Bank Parking Lot, Hwy 2 and 4th Ave West (behind bank & Bob’s Factory Outlet), 1 block north of finish line 3rd Ave West & 3rd St.
  • Anich, Wickman & Lindsey S.C Parking Lot, 220 6th Ave West, 3 blocks west of finish line
  • Corner of Main Street & 6th Ave West, 5 blocks west of finish line.

  • Overall – Top three overall Male & Female
  • Age Group – Three deep in the following age classes Male & Female: 12-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 +.
  • Local – Top Male & Female who reside in Ashland or Bayfield Counties.
 

Tamarack Health WhistleStop 5K & 10K

  • Overall – Male & Female both events and medals
  • Age Group – Three deep in the following age categories Male & Female 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 +
 

Awards Ceremonies:

  • 5K/10K Awards will be at 10:30am in the Bay Area Civic Center
  • Marathon & Half-Marathon Awards will be at 2:30pm in the Bay Area Civic Center
